There also is a 15-minute slow speed practice session at 0200 to 0215.
No scores to be submitted, but it is available for slower speed ops to
become familiar with sprint operating.
We're almost half way through the 2007 Spring/Summer MAdness event known
as NCCC Sprint Ladder.
For Wk 8 excitement, join us Friday 0230-0300Z (Thursday night, US) 0n
20-160 m CW. Discuss results afterwards with the NCCC Contest Net with
N6RO on 3610 at 0300 Z (note new frequency). Ken listens up-band for
Generals. And please report scores to 3830 at
http://www.hornucopia.com/3830score/ . If the form isn't' up yet, be
patient.
Activity and enthusiasm for NS Ladder remains higher than ever. Results
through Wk 7 now posted at ncccsprint.com, thanks to W0YK.
There's been one complaint about operating procedure: It;s customary
for the station vacating the frequency to acknowledge the exchange
before moving on by a ". . " "tu" or whatever. The stations competing to
be recognized for the next exchange wait for this acknowledgment. This
procedure is a guideline, not a rule so technically it 's not a
required. If the leaving station didn't copy, it's his responsibility
to alert the inheriting station with a series of dits.
But see Aug 2003 statement by N6TR at :
http://lists.contesting.com/_cq-contest/2003-08/msg00036.html
in part "In the past, some of the big gun sprint operators would split
once
they had the QSO number (assuming they knew what the name and QTH were).
This practice has been discouraged and there are now a number of people
who will actually REMOVE THE QSO from the log if the confirmation isn't
heard. "
If you have an opinion about this issue, let us know.
