Greetings to all,
I hope you've cleared your calendars for 24 hours of fun this Saturday. It's
time for the Bill Windle QSO Party. Please try to get on at least for some
of the time. It would be wonderful to have all FOC members on the air
for this
event. All QSOs in the BWQP do count for the Windle award, so here's a
chance
to pick up some easy ones. Full details below. Please forward to your club
reflectors and other interested parties. This is a great opportunity to
showcase FOC.
Note: The committee has authorized awarding certificates for the first time
with the running of the 9 June BWQP. Read on for details.

FOC open invitation to all CW ops
Join us for 24 hours of CW fun, making QSOs with FOC members on all 6 HF
bands (WARC excluded) and VHF. This is an operating event called The
Bill Windle
QSO Party. The primary purpose is to encourage more CW activity. Stations
call CQ BW in any portion of the band from 015 to 040. (On 160, please stay
below 025). Nonmembers contact FOC members. Contact each station once
per band.
Exchange RST and name (FOC members will also send their membership number).
Stations are encouraged to also engage in mini-chats, if they so desire. The
activity event will run from 0000Z to 2359Z on June 9, 2007. New this year:
Certificates will be awarded to the QSO leaders on each continent. A
separate
certificate will be awarded to an FOC member and nonmember station who
reports the highest number of QSOs during the 24 hour period. We still
use the
honor system. No logs required. Just send in your QSO total to be listed.
Nonmembers send total number of QSOs with FOC members (count each QSO
once per
band). Members will report the number of total QSOs/and separate FOC
member QSOs.
Email totals only to _KZ5D at aol.com_ (mailto:KZ5D at aol.com) by June 16,
2007.
List will be posted on the FOC website.
