I haven?t been to a Hamfest since Dayton about ten years ago. I came very
close to going to Huntsville this year and now regret missing it. I?ll be
there next year. Good Lord willing and the Chattahoochee don?t rise. I haven
?t seen this in a long time but we used to have CW copying contests from
contest/DX pile up tapes. Since a major thrust next year will be contesting
and recruiting, why not have a CW copying contest open to and in the public
arena instead of rat holed in some dark, quiet corner for club members.
Remember the CW verses text message contest on the Jay Leno show? The
ambient noise should add to the excitement and make it more realistic. We
need to have some background sound playing around the booth, suite or
whatever of some good contest/DX pileups. Excite all of the senses.
