This Week's Contests:
1. North American QRP CW Club July Sprint. 0030-0230Z Thurs (Wed
local). 80-20M CW, 5W output max. Exchange: RST + SPC + NAQCC #
or power. Use a bug or hand key and multiply your score by 1 1/2 or 2.
2. Sprint Ladder. Note that this week there will be two of these in
order to test out a no duplicates rule. From 0200-0225, there will be
one and you cannot work dupes. From 0230-0300Z, the regular ladder
event will have the usual dupe rule, dupes OK after band change or one
intervening QSO. 160-20M CW, 100W maximum. Exchange: both calls, #,
name, SPC. One kHz QSY rule. Mults count per band. There will be no
slow speed SNS for this week.
3. Russian Radio Team Championship. 070-1459Z Sat. 40-10M CW/SSB.
Exchange: RS(T) + 3 letter code from Russian teams and ITU xone from
others. You may work everyone, not just Russian teams. Use your
logging program's module for IARU HF. This will be similar to the WRTC
2010 near Moscow.
4. DMC RTTY Contest. 12Z Sat to 12Z Sun. 80-10M RTTY. Exchange: RST
+ Serial #.
5. North American QSO Party, RTTY. 18Z Sat to 06Z Sun. 10 hour max
for single ops. 80-10M RTTY. Exchange: Name + SPC. Don't count
dupes. Team competitions. Someone should get up teams for ACG and SECC.
6. CQ Worldwide VHF Contest. 18Z Sat to 21Z Sun. 6M, 2M, any mode.
Exhange: 4 character grid square.
7. Colorado QRP Club Great Colorado Gold Rush. 2000-2159Z Sun. 20M CW
only. 5W max. Exchange: RST + SPC + Class + CQC member # or power.
Classes: wire = w; vertical = v; beam - b; portable = p. Maximum of 3
QSOs with each station, with at least 30 minutes between duplicate QSOs.
Bonus points for first QSO with W0CQC.
8. July Flying Pigs QRP Club Run for the Bacon. 01-03Z Monday (Sun
night local). 160-10M CW, 5W max. Exchange: RST + SPC + member # or
power output.
The VHF contest could be a lot of fun if 6M is open as it has been
lately. Could be some confusion during the period that the two RTTY
contests are running, but there may not be much activity in the DMC
contest. Have fun and a lot of QSOs. 73, John, K4BAI.
