Looks like AL stations took last week off from contesting.
This week's contests:
Tonight (Wednesday): Barbershop Quartet CW QRP Sprint. 01-03Z Thursday
night. 5W max. Exchange: RST + SPC + power. I forget the bands, but
at least 80, 40, and 20. Extra points for working stations with "ESE"
suffixes.
1. NCCC Practice Sessions Thursday and Friday local. 0230-0300Z Fri
and Sat. NAQP regular rules. Exhange: Name and SPC. Mults count per
band. 160-10M CW, 100W maximum. Check out your logging software and
make sure everything is ready for Saturday's big event.
2. SNS Practice Session. Usual rules. 0200-0215Z Friday (Thursday
night local). 100W maximum. 80, 40, 20M. NA Sprint rules like usual
NCCC. Dupes OK after band change or one intervening QSO. Maximum speed
22 WPM. One kHz QSY rule.
3. TARA Grid Dip Shindig. 24 hours UTC of Saturday. PSK and RTTY

single ops. 160-10M CW, 100W maximum power. Mults count per band.
Exchange: Name + SPC.
7. South African Radio League HF Phone Contest. Sunday 13-1630Z.
80-20M SSB. Exchange: RS + Serial Number.
Hope everyone has a nice weekend and a lot of contacts. Be sure to sign
up for ACG and SECC teams and indicate your team name and # when
reporting your score. I will miss all the fun due to a trip out of
town. Guess I could make some contacts in the 10-10 contest before I go
out of town if that band is open.
Next Tuesday night, the QRP CW 20M Fox Hunts continue and this time I
will be one of the Foxes. That is Wednesday 0100-0230Z between 14050
and 14070. Run 5W maximum and work only the two foxes. Exchange: RST
+ SPC + Name + power. The foxes will send CQ FOX and will usually start
out listening UP (or down) and will go to simplex when the pileup drops
down. Last year, I worked AB9CA in AL during the Fox Hunt on 20M and I
have heard AA4NN in SC, so it is possible that skip could be short
enough for nearby state QSOs. Give it a try. It's a lot of fun
(especially for the Foxes).
73, John, K4BAI.
