K4BAI 21 16 768 CheckLog 1:09 GA Submitted a check log because I
think I may have run over 5W by mistake.
AA4LR, Bill, was one of the 80M Foxes Tuesday night and worked about 64
QRP stations throughout North America. Way to go, Bill!
Contest This Upcoming Week:
1. QRP Fox Hunt 40M. Thursday night local, 0200-0330Z Friday.
7040-7060. Two foxes (N4DD, Dennis, TN and NG7Z, Paul, WA) will be QRV.
Work only the two foxes. Exchange: RST, SPC, Name, Power. Max
power: 5W.
2. NCCC NAQP SSB Practice Sessions. Thursday and Friday local,
0230-0259Z Friday and Saturday. Usual NAQP rules. Max power 100W.
160-10M SSB. Exchange: Name + SPC or name only for stations outside NA
and HI. No dupes. Good idea to get in some practice before the real
thing on Saturday. Get everything checked out beforehand.
3. LZ (Bulgaria) Open Contest. Saturday 00-06Z (Friday night local).
80 & 40 M CW. Exchange: (No RST) Serial # plus serial # just received
from your last QSO. So, for your first QSO, you send #001000. For your
second QSO, you send 00100?, depending on what # you got from your first
QSO. Dupes OK after every 30 minutes. If you make QSOs in this one,
please send in your log because the other guy gets credit only for
stations who also submit logs. Work everyone.
4. Hungarian DX Contest. Sat 12Z to Sun 12Z. CW/SSB 160-10M.
Exchange: RS(T) + serial # or 2 letter HA county abbreviation. Packet
allowed for, but no self spotting. Work everyone. List of county
abbreviations in the rules.
5. UK DX Contest, RTTY. 12Z Sat to 12Z Sun. 80-10M RTTY. Exchange:
RST + QSO # or UK area code. Work everyone.
6. NCJ North American QSO Party, SSB. 18Z Sat to 06Z Sun. Maximum 10
hours for Single Ops. Mults count per band. 160 - 10M SSB. 100 W
maximum power. Exchange: Name + SPC (or just Name for stations outside
NA + HI). For ACG teams, contact WA1FCN. For SECC teams, contact
K4BAI. I still have only 8 members of SECC teams. Need two more for
two full teams. How about this one, W4XO and others? Last weekend
there was an Es opening to the North East on 20, 15, and 10M about 22Z,
so don't forget to check for such openings.
7. ARRL January VHF Sweepstakes. 19Z Sat to 04Z Mon. 50 mHz & up.
Exchange: 4 character grid square (example: EM72). If you notice Es
during NAQP on 15 and 10, you might want to see if there are Es stations
workable on 6M.

(Sunday night local). 160-10M CW. Maximum power 5W. Exchange: RST +
SPC + FP# or power.

Work only the two Foxes (W8RU, Ron in Mi and K1RA, Andy in Va).
Exchange: RST + SPC + name + power. Maximum power 5W.
Hope everyone has a nice week and makes a lot of QSOs. Look for 9 year
old Will, WB4CSK, in Fayetteville, TN on 10M SSB in NAQP. Will is the
son of Mark, W4CK and made his contest debut in the ARRL 10M contest in
December.
73, John, K4BAI.
