I'd like to add my little encouragement for all members of both clubs to
get on for at least an hour or two somewhere in our busy Easter
weekends. The GQP has become one of the premier QSO parties in the US -
up there with CA and FL. Hope to see y'all this weekend. And now the
contest includes 160 as well!
Hal

Subject: [SEDXC] GA QSO Party Publicity
Hello all: You might like reading the article on the GA QSO Party in
NS3T's online contesting magazine. The paper log in my lap indicates
that the photo was taken during the AL QSO Party last June when the
laptop battery failed (wouldn't recharge while in operation). 73, John.
Hey Guys - thanks VERY much for your input. The story, with a few
photos is now up at http://www.radio-sport.net/gaqp09_pre.htm
Thanks!!!!

Hi Jamie,
We have had several stations work in the 150s, I think 154 was the
hi mark last year.
There were 17 rovers out last year, also a high.
We missed Terrell county only. 158 were in the logs.
On our web site, as below, there are a lot of pics, and you could
probably do a screen copy of any of them.
I would like to have pics of your operation for posting too.
At our site you will also find a power point presentation for your
club or hamfest, and a flyer to hand out.
And, WinGQP, a new logger is available through a link there too...
This year the holiday will probably have an impact.
We DO need rovers out there, that is the best way to get those rare
counties covered.
Hope this helps, see you on the air...

Jamie: I am going to leave it to Jeff to reply to you since he has
info that I don't have right at hand. Jeff and I will be QRV in a
number of counties on Saturday as W4AN/M. On Sunday, he and his
family will be going to the Atlanta area for lunch with Jan's
familly. He might be QRV from home toward the end. My Sunday plans
are indefinite except for church and family lunch. Otherwise, I
will be QRV when possible either or both from home and or from
K4BAI/M. Don't have my car setup installed yet and may borrow
someone else's vehicle and gear for a few hours on Sunday. Nice to
hear from you!
Mike, NE4S, could give you complete details, but K5YAA and others
have come close to a sweep in past years. We QSOs reported from 158
counties last year. But, yes, we need a lot of mobiles for anyone
to make a sweep. I'll e-mail NE4S to see if he can add to your
information. Jeff doesn't receive personal e-mails at work, so it
may be Friday night before he sees this.
73, John, K4BAI.
