IC756PRO 100 watts, Vertical Loop Antenna @ 45 ft in trees
My best score ever in a VHF contest.
Breakdown :
221/70 - CW
239/85 - SSB
Saturday was unbelievable!! Had a 95 hr the first hour of the contest. The
band
shifted all around the country and that evening it sounded like 20 meters.
These
were the conditions I dreamed of experiencing since moving south from Ohio.
Sunday was just so-so. Just a short opening to the east coast and mostly
W5/W6/W7/W0 stations to the west for most of the day. I was shocked to be
called by a loud CT1HZE at 2335 Z on Sunday. I think this is only the 2nd
time
I have worked a EU station. Also worked some other DX - XE2K,HI3TEJ,VQ5M and
VP9GE.
I hooked now. Now I need to go out and buy a beam before the CQ VHF
contest...
