Yes, it has been 50 years since the first GQP.
We will celebrate the event April 9/10 2011.
While one or two years?possibly were missed, it is certain that 50 years have
passed since the first party.
John, K4BAI, and Rusty, W6OAT have checked and it is confirmed.
They also have original logs that might be fun to see and look for calls.
So we are gearing up for some special fun in April....
Quick update:
The Certs are mailed, my most recent "catch up" task.
The 50th is posted on the web site, just the basics, more later as we can form
some programs.
Gordon's write up is posted.
The K4OD/K4BK GEORGIA award is also posted.?? Gordon has refined the rules and
I
have a link on the web.
(Several folks have already gotten 1x1 calls for the award)
Bob, W2WG and Jim, W4QO are lending a hand as "color team" for the 50th.? Their
help is welcome and appreciated.
The downloadable flyer is also updated for the 50th.? Print some and get them
to
your clubs.
I am headed to L'Ville tomorrow to advertise and hand out flyers and cards
Ideas and suggestions are welcome from all in the clubs.
We will try to find some ideas that we can use and execute.
The party is always a good weekend, next time it will be special.
