challenging warm up for CQ 160 CW on the weekend.
3. Thursday night 40M QRP Fox Hunt. 0200-0330Z Friday UTC. 7030-7050
kHz. 5W maximum power. Exchange: RST + SPC + name + power. Work only
the two foxes: KT5E, Jay, CO and AB7R, Greg, WA.
4. NCCC NS Ladder. 0230-0259Z Friday (Thursday night local time).
100W maximum power. One kHz QSY rule. 20, 40, 80, 160M CW. Exchange:
both calls, #, name, SPC. There will probably be a slow speed
practice 0200-0220Z on 20, 40, and 80 with the same rules except speeds
are limited to 26 WPM or less.
5. CQ 160 M CW Contest: 2200Z Fri to 2200Z Sun. Maximum time for
single ops: 30 hours. 160M CW only. Exchange: RST + SPC for W/VE and
RST + CQ zone for other DX. There is a club aggregate score competition.
6. REF (France) CW Contest. 06Z Sat to 18Z Sun. 80-10M CW. Maximum
28 hours for single ops. Exchange: RST + French Dpt # or overseas
French Prefix and for non French stations: RST + serial #. Work only
French/Corsica and French possession stations.
7. BARTG RTTY Sprint: 12Z Sat to 12Z Sunday. 80-10M RTTY. Exchange:
Serial #.
8. UBA (Belgium) DX Contest, SSB. 13Z Sat to 13Z Sun. 80-10M SSB.
Exchange: RS + Serial # plus ON province abbreviation for Belgian
stations. Work everyone.
9. SPAR Winter Field Day. 17Z Sat to 17Z Sun. All modes and all bands
except WARC. Exchange: RST + Category + Temperature (C or F).
10. Classic Radio Exchange (CX). 14Z Sun to 08Z Mon. 160-2M CW.
Exchange: Name + RST + rcvr/xmtr manf/model. You can still operate
this with modern equipment, but classic gear makes more points.
11. QRPARCI Fireside SSB Sprint. 2000-2359Z Sunday. 80-10M SSB.
Exchange: RS + SPC + QRPARCI # or power.
12. 80M Tuesday night QRP Fox Hunt. Same rules as 40M hunt on Thurs
except frequencies are 3550-3570 and the foxes will be different stations.
Time to get sign ups for 10-person teams for NA Sprint contests in
February. These run Saturday nights local, 0000 to 0400Z, CW on Feb 5
and SSB on Feb 12. I have K4BAI and K4FXN down for SECC team for CW.
And K4BAI for SSB. Again, you do not need to be a member of a club or
within a club circle to be on a club team. So, tell your friends, and
