That is why I like phone. I am much better at it. Also I see I just set the
IARU USA Low Power Phone record. I am in the Miami VA Hospital recovering from
my surgery. All went well
. I am missing operating from NQ4I thia weekend. He is blowing the 4th district
record away

I believe your award is more than good- it is well deserved.? I have never
believed in the 'cw is for real ops' mentality; both modes require sharp
operating skills to excell? IMHO, the truly great world-class operators can
operate both cw and phone (and now perhaps digital?) with similar winning
results.? It is really amazing to me to see the ones that are really
'ambidextrous'.
As a cw op, I do pride my abilities- but must admit it's sure easier to run
a pile up or hunt/work weak mults with a cw filter vs. a phone filter.? The
phone op has much more QRM to deal with too.? Finally, the rates on phone
leave less time for human error.? It takes true grit to withstand any
48hour contest, but a 48 hour phone contest will separate the men/women
from the boyz/girlz.
Anyway, I hope you will display that phone certificate with pride- it's
well deserved.? Congrats again.
