This Week's Contests
1. CWOps Club CWT Mini Tests. Wednesday (Today). Two one-hour
sessions remaining to be run. 1900Z and 0300Z (Friday UTC). 160-6M CW.
Exchange: Name + CWOps Member # or SPC. Look around 028 kHz on each band.
2. QRP Fox Hunt. Thursday night local. 0100-0230Z Friday.
14050-14070. Two QRP Foxes will be QRV. One will be K4BAI. The other
I am not yet sure of since the regularly assigned Fox is QRL then. Work
only the two Foxes. Exchange: RST, SPC, Name, Power. Don't give up
because we are too close together. I worked AB9CA in coastal AL last
week on 20M in a QRP event.
3. NCCC RTTY Sprint Practice. 0130-0159Z Friday (Thursday night
local). This week run QRP only (5W or less). 15, 20, 40, 80M RTTY.
One kHz QSY rule. No same band duplicates. Exchange: both calls, #,
name, SPC.
4. NCCC CW Sprint Practice. 0230-0259Z Friday (Thursday night local).
This week run QRP 5W or less. No duplicate same band QSOs. One kHz
QSY rule. Exchange: both calls, #, name, SPC.
5. FISTS CW Club Summer Sprint. 00-04Z Saturday (Friday night local).
80-10M CW. 100W maximum power. Exchange: RST, SPC, Name, FISTS# or
power. Look around 058 kHz on each band.
6. IARU HF Championship. 12Z Sat to 12Z Sun. 160-10M CW/Phone.
Exchange: RS(T) + ITU Zone or IARU Society or official designation.
For example: W1AW will send "ARRL." XE1MM will send "R3." This means
he is an official of IARU Region Three. This is a big contest. It
counts for WRTC 2014 qualification. This is the contest that the WRTC
competition take place during. There is club aggregate score
competition. There will be a M/S effort at WW4LL. Good luck, guys.
7. CQC Great Colorado Gold Rush Sprint. 2000-2159Z Sunday. 20M CW
only. Look around 14060. 5W maximum power. Exchange: RST + class +
CQC# or power. "Class" means: w = wire; v = vertical; b = beam; p =
portable regardless of antenna. Bonus points for first QSO with club
station W0CQC. You may work the same station after 30 minutes have
passed since the last QSO for a possible 3 QSOs with each station.
8. Flying Pigs QRP CW Club Run for the Bacon Sprint. 0100-0300Z Monday
(Sunday night local). 160-10M CW. 5W maximum power. Exchange: RST,
SPC, FP# or power.
There will be a NAQCC Sprint on Wednesday night of next week and I'll
summarize those rules in next Wednesday's report. Hope everyone has a
nice week and weekend.
73, John, K4BAI.
