Here's the workaround:
1. Temporarily rename or relocate your current TRMASTER.DTA file.
2. Copy the .DTA file you are trying to import into the directory where
POST lives.
3. Rename that .DTA file in step #2 to TRMASTER.DTA
4. Do POST UEA.
5. Exit POST.
6. Rename the TRMASTER.ASC you just created into something else.
7. Copy back or rename your original TRMASTER.DTA file from step #1
back into the directory where POST lives.
8. Do POST UEFF with the file you renamed in step #6 above.
9. Exit POST.
10. Enjoy your now merged TRMASTER.DTA file or wait until Tree
distributes a new version that has POST UEFD fixed.
