I have three laptops, a new Dell Latitude CP with w2k, a Hitachi w/ w98, and
a very old Zenith 386 w/ DOS6.2.
The Zenith works like a charm but it's getting old and cranky - bad sectors
on the HD, not a good sign....
The other two are remarkably similar. Neither will key the serial port with
TR in a DOS window unless I also set MULTI PORT = 1.
Nor will they key the serial port from a DOS restart without the MULTI PORT
set. They both work fine if I boot from A: with a sys disk.
I'd like to be able to run TR from a DOS window -- without the constant
beeps from the unlinked multi port. Any ideas?
