For a unlimited time, we are shipping a free HP calculator with every
version of TR Log!!
In fact, we have been doing this for a few years now.
If you can't find your calculator and need to make a quick calculation for
that stub you are working on, or perhaps you want to find out what your
final score REALLY is (instead of that random number TR puts in your
Cabrillo file), just type TR HP and you will have a reverse polish notation
calclator at your fingertips. Heck, even Microsoft can't do that.
There are in fact a ton of interesting little utility programs available.
To see a list of the commands, type TR ? (that's TR, a space, a question
mark and then ENTER).
To find out more about one you are curious about, just try it and it will
tell you what it does. There are routines to decode uuencoded or base64
files, tell you the distance between two grids, convert hex to decimal or
decimal to hex, calculate the inductance or capacitance when using your
SWR meter to look at a tuned circuit, figure out the electrical length
of a open piece of coax using your SWR meter, look at a file in hex format,
test a serial port with a "dumb terminal", figure out your grid from your
lat/lon, poke and peek IO ports, take the input of a port and save it to
a file, sunrise and sunset predictions and a utilty to view the data in
your RADIO.DBG file.
I have spent years writing this stuff.
Enjoy.
