Need some help on getting this combination to work. I'm using the Icom
CT-17 interface,
a Sunrex Laptop (about eight years old), the DOS window in Windows 98, the
IC765, and TR 6.79.
All this was just recently put together. Can't work a contest yet. The
problem is: the computer
will not key CW. I can change bands with the Alt V and B commands, and the
frequency is
always accurately displayed in TR,. so some interfacing is taking place, but
no cw keying of
the transmitter. It's as if I were in Simulation mode all the time. I've
tried everything I
know how to try, with all the various relevant commands, checking the dip
switches in
the xmtr, setting the baud rate to 1200 etc.,etc. I've jumpered pins 6 & 8
(pins 4 and 5 are
already jumpered in the CT-17) to no avail. I even got out a very old
copy of CT and tried
it but it won't key the xmtr either. When running radiodebug, I sometimes
have received
the message "key or footswitch pressed," but I don't have a footswitch and
the key isn't pressed.
And I can't read the binary part of the debug file. Any suggestions???
troy, wi0r
