I am using a CD rom configured per one of KD4D's tutorials
to boot a Dell Laptop into DOS and run TRlog on a thumbdrive.
The procedures works fine, but TRlog seems really slow running
from the thumbdrive. During the CQ WW SSB, the computer
clock would lose time (about 5 minutes over the course of a
few hours) and keyboard latency was objectionable (especially
after I got a few hundred calls into the log). Here is what the
config.sys and autoexec.bat files look like on the CD ROM
boot disk:

path=a:\;a:\dos622
smartdrv a+ c+

DEVICE=HIMEM.SYS /testmem:off
DEVICE=emm386.exe noems
DOS=high,umb
FILES=30
BUFFERS=20
LASTDRIVE=Z

Any suggestions? I'd like to use this setup for CQ160, but it
needs to run faster otherwise its going to be a hinderance
if the rate is high. The thumbdrive is at least 3 years old
(only 128 MB).

Thanks,

Mike W4EF..................................................................
