When I sent my message about the relay noise during QSK on my OMNI VI,
I didn't mean the amplifier relay. Sorry I was not clear. That
relay is turned off by the convenient menu system :-) .
There is another reed relay on the filter board towards the back
of the radio, and it goes on and off with the QSK. I don't know
precisely why it is there, but it is there. Ten Tec suggested I
pot it in something to quiet it down, and to be careful not to
use the silicone cement with the wrong agents in it else the copper
on the board gets etched away. Forgot the exact thing to avoid
at the moment, but most products I looked at had labels that
explained what was safe around electronics......
I may try this, but the board is a bit tricky to take out. Just
wondering if anyone else has tackled this one.
