I am looking for information on the product detector addon board that is
avaiable from a G4 ham for the OMNI-6. I would like a schematic, if
possible. The IF in band intermod products are high and I am very
annoyed by the "fuzzy" CW note that my OMNI-6 has. I have made the
product detector capacitor/resistor change to reduce this, but I think
it could be better. My old CORSAIR-2 runs rings around my OMNI-6 for
good clean sounding CW. My DELTA-2 has the same problem.
I am also annoyed by all the clicking and clacking that the OMNI-6 makes
in full QSK. It is one of the noisyest TEN-TECs I have ever used on CW.
Does anyone have any fixes for all the QSK noise? My DELTA-2 is very
smooth in this respect!
If TEN-TEC comes out with an OMNI-7, I hope they make the RX as clean
sounding as my old OMNI-C or CORSAIR-2.
