I've had similar problems on a few occasions caused by the following:
The +13v connector on the back was accidently shorted to ground
momentarily, cured with a soft reset.
Excessively high SWR on the antenna with no ground except the negative
power lead, cured by soft or hard resets.
My problems appear to be user faults rather than rig related.
