I really applaud TenTec for having the honesty to sell this special CW
filter at the same price as the stansdard filters. Thie is truly a sign
of a special company indeed!

Now if someone could help us SSB users of the Omni?

I have just obtained a 1.8 KHz filter for the 9 MHz IF and it is
virtually unusable. The centering is such that virtually ALL low
frequency information is lost. Passband tuning, of course, won't correct
this. About all this filter helps, if you can call it that, is when
there is QRM VERY close to your operating filter and which contains a
lot of energy that would demodulate as low frequencies, ie lower in
frequency when you operate USB and above your frequency if you operate
LSB. This is a lot more annoying than havin gthe CW offset frequency at
750 instead of 500 Hz.

Also, is there anything I can do to improve the operation of the noise
blanker in y Omni V? I have checked it thoroughly and it appears to be
electrically functional. Signals get through it, pulses come out of it,
and the noise gate works when the pot is fully CW but it is EXTREMELY
distorted. Was this blanker optimized for the now-defunct "Woodpecker"??
Can it be easily changed to deal with short pulse line noise???

Thanks! Aside from these issues, I am VERY happy with this radio.
