Just cooked my Argosy II on a steam radiator. It got hot, but I never let
it get too hot to touch. Ran dial from one end to other maybe 50 times with
rig upside down, right side up, knobs down, knobs up, etc. This Argosy
exhibited signs of bad grease (tuning in signal, slight turn of knob might
take frequency the wrong way, etc.) After cooking, I let rig cool off and
ran through the band a few more times for good measure. Rig presently
tuning solid as a rock!!
Then performed same on Triton 544 with same symptoms. Have not tested it
yet, though. Presently cooking an Omni-C. Will advise if this is the magic
cure or a temporary one.
