Does that switch REALLY change the bias? In many VHF amps all it does is
change the time delay on the RF sensing, adding a capacitor to make some
hang on SSB.

And then what is the bias circuit for SSB? Is it substantial with a 723
regulator like the Motorola circuit or is it a simple diode and
resistor?
