Hello... Tom, W1EAT did it (at least so far-so good). He suggested 
taking the tuning knob off, heating the shaft with a haid dryer while 
squirting some silicone lube between the middle shaft and the outer... 
I used a soldering iron to heat the shafts instead. Looks like it's 
gonna work this time...
