Having recently procured an Argosy-II (Mdl 525D) without the optional AF
filter (Mdl 224), I was pondering the idea of adding an inboard version
(MFJ CWF-3) or using an outboard filter like the OHR SCAF or R-S DSP
filter.
After asking around, I was put in touch with Gary and Brad from Embedded
Research in Rochester, NY. They make an exact replacement for the 525/D
Argosys that comes in a kit for $40 plus postage. I ordered one and built
it in about a 1/2 hour. It is a direct drop-in replacement for the OEM by
T-T. It works great and was an absolute necessity for FD this year.
To all you Argosy owners out there: If you need the EXACT optional AF
filter for your Argosy, get with Embedded Research:
embres@frontiernet.net. (Now, if I could only get them to repo the Mdl
223A noise blanker, I'd be eternally happy).
