I soldered a 620 ohm resistor across R45 (3.3K) and I now have only the
slightest hint of a pop on very strong signals, certainly not enough to be
a bother. I might try a 1K trim pot the next time I have the radio open, but
for now I am satisfied with the result, and it couldn't be an easier fix.
