Hi Mark:
The PBT control will act like a "pitch" control in a sense
and does indeed find signals that don't come into the stock
(read 12 o'clock on the PBT control) passband. Now, your
BFO injection might be a little off and your PBT might
not be aligned just right....that could account for your
making the "spot" frequency and the rig not honing in on
that right away. It is really no problem in my eyes, I
have used the PBT to get the signal where I want it all
the time.
