Alan,

Hope this isn't a duplicate--haven't had a chance to read all the mail the
past few days.

I owned an Omni V for several years and now have the Omni 6 with option 1
chips, etc. installed.

The main reason I changed was:

The Omni 6 has a processor that can be addressed by all of the major
logging and contesting programs ( I am a contester so this is a big
deal for me).

The RIT/XIT feature is very helpful and even more so with the features
added by the "plus" chips.

Generally, the far superior processor and all of the features
available because of it makes the rig much more flexible for the discerning
user.

Keyer is nice to have. Can't remember if the V had the band stacking
feature, but if not--a big improvement. (both cw and ssb frequencies &
filters available on each band). Also, besides DSP, you have the notch that
does a beautiful job of removing hetrodynes (sp).

These are the main features that come to mind.
