Don't send that 10 dollars, I will tell you how right here. All you need to
add to the input to the low DC volts scale, or if that is too high, to the low
current DC scale of the meter is a 1N34 germanium diode from radio shack in
series, and on the other lead of the diode, put a short wire for a whip
antenna say 2 or 3 feet tall. Now, to get fancy, put a 0.01 cap to ground
side of meter on the meter side of the diode. Let us say you put the bar of
the diode toward the meter input, then, from the cathode, (bar) side also have
the cap to ground of meter.
That is it, and it does not cost $10!! Best possible way to tune up an
antenna is a field strength meter, but an analog meter does show the peak
easier than the digital only numerical scale.
