Curtis A is slightly dummer than B. Slap your paddles to make the letter =
C and let go to quickly yeilds the letter K or even an N. Mode B will =
remember the whole sequence and produce the letter C. I'm sure it could =
be explained better.=20
I got used to mode B, the most popular, and now mode A is difficult for =
me to use. Supposingly, if you are used to using a bug, mode A is easier =
for to use but if you are starting from ground zero then use mode B. =
Personally, I found mode B easier to use even though I still use my bug =
at times.
I have no idea why TT wants you to use PTT. Some suggested that the =
sudden switching due to a constant tone from RTTY would cause a problem =
but I don't see it that way. True, a slight delay may cause clipping of =
the first few bits but you will eventually sync up and besides, PTT has =
some delay too. Guess they need to be called for an explanation and =
posted here. 73

I don't use the built in keyer in my OMNI-VI, but I'm curious. What =
is the difference between Curtis "A" and "B" keying?
=20
Also, has anyone given any thought as to why TT wants you to use PTT =
in digital modes?
