I've purchased a D-104 which was wired for a Kenwood and there's a
"fake-loo" matching network in the base. It consists of:
a 10 k from the mic to gnd, and
a 22 k in series to the mic element??
This is an OLD Astatic D-104 with the riveted label and it looks like
it's probably using a xtal element but it sure LOOKS good on with the
rig. Are any out there using this mic configuration with an Omni V or
VI? Did you have to alter the matching network?
So far the audio reports with this configuration have been good but it
needs a bunch more gain to trigger the ALC! (Now set at 12 o'clock).
Any suggestions on the matching configuration would be appreciated.
Thanks,
