Echo Steve's comments on the Pegasus.

I got a chance to spend some time with it the prior evening.

1. The QSK seems to be smooth, but I don't see any options for
"Slow/Fast"

2. There is no "Speech Processing", but there are selectable SSB
transmit filters that are supposed to be the answer to this.

3. The possibilities for upgrades in the software appear to be endless.
Imagine purchasing a radio and getting a new one free every few months!

4. Power On/ Power off procedures seem to be flexible, with the radio
remembering where it was when last powered down. Another interesting
note is that you and QSY with the optional knob while transmitting
everything seems to be very smooth -- no "jumps". (Even the Omni VI
won't do that very well!)

5. Like Scott says: "It's not an Omni VI" .. But then again, at 1/3 the
price and with $3200 worth of filters built in, I would say they have a
real winner on the horizon.

My intended application(s) would be for use at home (in easy chair with
laptop while radio is upstairs) and remotely at a location 50 miles
away. In order to do that, there will need to be 3 or 4 paths depending
on the mode of operation. For CW, you will need a serial line, keying
line, and return audio path. For SSB, you will need an additional uplink
audio path. It might be possible to use some remote control software
like PC Anyware and maybe even run some sort of CW Keyboard program on
the other end, thus eliminating the need for the keying line.

With this kind of flexibility, I am sure it will be no time at all that
some software wizard has one connected to the internet, using Java to do
the whole thing down one line!
