Hello,
We've been beta testing the new model 526 6N2 VHF transceiver over
the last couple of months here at the T-T factory but had been
limited by lack of band openings - the openings kept occuring when
we didn't have the radio hooked up, or vice versa. We've spent a
lot of time talking to each other locally on 6 meters! Finally,
after watching 6 meters very diligently over the last two weeks,
we were rewarded with a great sporadic-E opening this afternoon
and were able to use the new rig to work stations in 15 different
grids on 6m from Rhode Island through the northeast to Ontario.
20 watts output to a 4 element Hy-Gain 6m yagi on a 10 foot TV mast.
Signal reports sounded terrific, comments on the audio were great,
we even squeaked out a couple of contacts on CW and we're all very
enthusiastic about today's results!
Just wanted to share the news! Expect the rig to be ready to
roll out sometime this fall.

Scott Robbins, W4PA
