Right and you should set your sidetone pitch to 750hz and tune the other
station in to match the sidetone. setting those square-wave sidetones on
freq isn't easy and frequency counters don't always respond to them so you
just have to do the best you can. Also, none of this holds true if the
oscillators in the rig are not aligned properly which is very likely after
a few decades. 

The Omni V had a cw offset of 600hz which was more comfortable for me. The
Collins KWM-2 offset was 1500hz. eeeeek! The National NCX3 had a sidetone
but no offset!
