The difference between 15 and 20 amps won't cause wiring to go into a
meltdown condition. And that wire size is chosen by the electrical codes
to be protected by the circuit breaker in the panel. If its a fuse and
you have installed a 30 amp fuse or a penny, the wires can be
overheated. The insurance company fire investigator will look for those
errors and if found will tear up the insurance policy.
If you read my Sunday posting you will realize that the current
indication is dependent on the meter, the line voltage, and the
transformer design details. Both ratings may accurate represent what the
factory sees with their meters though their meters may not be
representative of what different types of meters would indicate.
