But, that zero beating method above was a good notion. My Triton
IV had it. It didn't depend on guessing what 600 Hz sounded
like.
Personally, I liked it.
But, I also like my Omni's VI's method of zero beating, even
though it's a much slower method. 95 percent of the time, I just
ballpark tuning the station in with my my ears and press on for
the QSO.
If I'm 100 Hz or so off, so what? It's (1) only a hobby, and (2)
I'm an 'Amateur''; my license says so.
