[TenTec] Model 1254 Help needed ( correction)

Sorry, forgot the Model number hi hi.
Hi all:
This is a strange one for me.
Once upon a time, I seem to remember my 1254 hearing just one signal from a
CW
station.
Now I hear two.  Logic seems to dictate that if this happens, the SSB filter
is shot, but I cannot believe this (just) happened.
Any suggestions?
