[TenTec] CW filter in 1st IF of Corsair ?

Is there any reason (other than not being able to copy SSB) why one could
not use
a 9 MHz CW filter (such as the TenTec 217) in the first IF of a Corsair 1 ?

Has anyone on the list done this ?
