Budd and the group,
I do not remember anything abt limited supplies or not, but, then again, if
the wife asks me to get more than three things at the grocery store I have
to make a list.

One thing to consider for future tube needs on the Titan 425 is the
possibility of modifying the amp to run the Svetlana 4CX800s (QRO, Alpha
power, etc.). I would guess that if Svetlana is making the 3cx800s that they
are every bit as good as any other tube they make. I have been using the
Russian 572Bs now for years and I'm very very pleased, especially when
dealing with Merit W6 something, the owner of RF Parts in San Marcos.

Tom Hix W4TH has been advertising a pair of new Svetlana 4CX800s for $200
for the PAIR!!! That is the bargain of the decade. These are great tubes and
for 200 bones I would buy two pairs. I do not know off-hand if the filament
voltages are the same as the 3cx800 or not but a conversion does not seem
out of the question if the tubes physical size is close. Definately worth
looking at.

Of course one would need to build up a screen supply and look at the time
delay/warm up period, blower stats, and so forth but it could be an option
IF the Russian 3cx800s do not pan out.
