Actually, my Scout is much quieter on receive than the Icom I borrowed while
the Scout went in for service (it went in because I packed it poorly when
traveling, my bad).  My Scout has less features, but I'll be darned if I
don't prefer it to the "bells and whistles" class of radios, for the most
part.

I just purchased a new Scout last week and had to return it to the factory.
It had a loud, constant "hissing" or "hash" type sound when in receive. I
was just wondering if anyone else has experienced the same problem with
their Scout?
