I tried WriteLog along with a few other loggers that were purported to work
with the Omni V. It never did work and consultations with the publisher and
members of the WriteLog reflector didn't solve the problem. I sent the rig back
to Ten Tec and it checked out fine. WriteLog refunded my money. None of the
other loggers would work with the Five either. TT explained the issue and short
of replacing the processor and modifying the radio to put in a true serial port
there isn't much you can do.

Writelog does however work just great with the Omni VI+ and I really liked the
program except that there is no general log. I don't work contests and was
interested in just keeping my general log and they didn't at the time have a
way to do that. I ended up writing my own in Visual Basic logger since I don't
care about the goofy contest format that everything has to be in. All I wanted
to do was log contacts and have the data base search for previous contact dates
and recover info from the QRZ data base. Nobody makes a commercial program to
do that simple task.

So if you contest I can recommend WriteLog as a good product with good support.
