You need a steel box to protect the transformers from the vertical sweep
frequency magnetic fields. Or some mu-metal to enclose the transformers.
High priced audio transformers for low level used to come in steel
containers, and mu-metal shields were available. And aluminum box may
have some effect, but a steel box will have more effect on the magnetic
fields.
