Hi to the List -- After expiration of warranty, the main tuning encoder
on my VI+ quit encoding. TT advised to check it by interchanging 2 wires
on main encoder with 2 wires on rit encoder to confirm that main encoder
was bad. 54&55  with 56&57, I think. NOT SURE, but KNOW the wire numbers
were in the 50's. It worked and I replaced main encoder. 

Later I broke the rit shaft when transporting the VI+ and replacement
cost about $8.00 as I remember, from.
