Since Ten-Tec has led the way in the use of aluminum during its entire
products' history, I suggest something completely radical for the Orion...
How about an anodized front panel with a choice of anodized colors? Kinda'
like the Nokia approach to cell phones where different color aluminum plates
can be snapped on to the front depending on your current operating mood!
Anodizing front panels is truly the ne-plus-ultra when it comes to
electronic equipment industrial design. Witness the use of bold, anodized
colors in the high-end audiophile Hi-Fi world. Almost all of my custom
projects go through anodizing. On a one-piece set-up basis, it is not
cost-effective. But for an operation like Ten-Tec, this could be a whole
new competitive edge to that nasty consumer black plastic that all the other
manufacturers are using.
Think of it...anodized panels for the Orion in your choice of brilliant red,
blue, gold, black, teal...Whoa!
