Five years after introduction will the Orion be the radio of choice for
those who seek the very best?
I hope not. If it is then Ten tec has come to a research and developement
dead end. The days of radio models lasting for years is over. Anyone who
follows the old path of the TS440's and the like with each new model looking
and basically being the same will be out of business.
Looks are what gets the buying public interested these days. Take the TS2000
looks very nice and to some nice enough to look further into it and then
perhaps buying. You have to get people to look first.
If I am not a Ten tec user now then what reason would I be interested in the
Orion?
The Orion will be the first radio in Ten tec's jump into the ring with the
real heavy hitters. Keeping the radios looking the same year after year,
model after model, are gone.
Just my opinion.
