WOW! Sure seems to be going to have IT ALL!
Scott has already agreed, if I decide to do it, I can
trade in the Peg and 340, hi. Will take a time for me
to decide that is REALLY worth doing. Will be doing
a bunch of rcvr spec comparisons, and watching the
reports of the folks who become the first/early buyers.
Not exactly sure precisely WHAT the benefits of a
floating point, 32 bit DSP will provide over the
16 bit chip in the 340 -- as far as rcv'g only goes. Yes,
I am sure the dual 32 bit chips will mean a LOT in
SO2R contesting, to keep up with all that could be
going on. But that is not my operating style. I enjoyed
a 45 minute rag-chew this morning with two stations
in Germany -- we talked about everything from pets,
the farms, antennas, rigs, etc., etc. For one station
it was the first KH6 land QSO -- I liked the entire time, hi.
Very pleased to see the two, big tuning knobs on the Orion.
More pix will come from the Charlotte hamfest, I hope.
