you do this, you will have lost DSP NR, LP filtering
and auto notch filter and will have seriously degraded
the capability of the receiver."
For the Omni VI+ audio buffs, it wouldn't be that hard
to add a small perf board with a low noise af
amplification stage driven directly by the product
detector output, plus a small relay to allow switching
between normal audio (with DSP/notch functionality)
and hifi audio (bypassing dsp/notch).
