Hi,

Someone on this list, a few weeks ago, indicated
a search for a more narrow filter for the 45 MHz IF;
an option a good deal more narrow than the 20 kHz
and 16 kHz units in the present 340 front end. These
wide filters are used to preserve the bandwidths
needed for the AM and SAM broadcast reception
modes; maybe something else also, don't know.

Anyway, it would be nice to have the option of a
more narrow filter. Now whoever mentioned the
search had already learned the name of the present
filter vendor for the 340, and hoped to obtain info
from that vendor about narrower filters.....any results??

Speculation is that the Orion first IF will again be 9 MHz;
thus the existing line of Ten Tec/Inrad filters may be used.

73,  Jim  KH7M
