A good fix for that static build up, is never leave a radio connected to an antenna or even antenna switch, if wind and storms are possible. I use slip on Coax plugs and unplug after being on air. If you put a 10,000 ohm resistor from each side of the loop to earth, it will discharge the static build up. Just put them on the feedline before it enters the shack, and run the lead direct to an earth rod. 73, Stuart K5kVH |
