I like the Kenwood AT-130 for the Scout. It's small and ruggedly built.
It has a lighted SWR meter and impedance range is ~20-600 ohms.
Itll handle 100 watts and holds its value at ~$100. If you need to run a
balanced line, use a current balun outboard of the tuner, and since it's a
t-match, dont look for it to do much with a random wire ant. For mobile
antennas, dipoles, zepps and windoms
it does the trick when needed. The tune setting on the scout is perfect for
this tuner, and alot of playing around is usually unnecessary. Neophytes
like this tuner because its compact, OTs will see it as a waste of money cuz
there's more than one way to match an antenna to an xcvr w/o resorting to a
t-match.
